Lubricants – Men and women both secret a natural lubricant to facilitate intercourse. Male lubricant is in the form of pre-ejaculate and the female’s is released from the walls of the vagina during arousal.
Saliva is used most often as a supplement for genital lubricants and serves to titillate the breasts, ears, mouth, and body as well. The longest lasting, but least common body lubricant is nasal mucous. This is genrally used during masturbation rather than with a partner.
Other lubricants may be purchased at Intimate Associates, a variety of retail outlets such as S/M leather outlets, pharmacies, etc. The important criteria for lubricants is that only water based lubricants are used with rubber products such as condoms or dildos. This is because oil will deteriorate the rubber and can cause a condom to break during coitus.
In the last ten years, lubricant formulas have changed tremendously. The most common item in water-based lubricants is propylene gycol which adjust PH balance without a bitter flavor. Another type of gel are flavored lubricants. These are generally more popular with younger adults.
Besides water-based lubricants, such as Liquid Sin, or Slippery Kitty, there are several Silcon based lubricants on the market. It is recommended that Silicon is used for anal activity where as water-based lubricants should be used for vaginal activity.
